Early 1960s – Life was simpler and quieter when Amway introduced its first hair care products with AMWAY™ Shampoo, Gel Shampoo Concentrate and a styling creme – AMWAY Hair Dressing.

1965 – SATINIQUE Creme Rinse is the newest hair care option.

1969 – “Where beauty begins.” This catch-phrase announced a new phase as the SATINIQUE brand moved in a new direction. A full line of SATINIQUE Products debuts including: Conditioning Shampoo and Hair Spray. “

1974 – SATINIQUE Protein Hair Care is launched. Scientists working on SATINIQUE products put their research and test results into practice, by enriching the SATINIQUE Hair Care product line with protein, which they had learned offered added hair protection.

1982 – Nothing Beats the “System.” SATINIQUE Dandruff Shampoo expanded into a complete care programme, with the SATINIQUE Anti-Dandruff System, including a conditioning rinse.

1990 – SATINIQUE for Styled Hair is launched – completing the hair care line with Styling Gel and Styling Mousse.

1993 – Keeping Pace with the Human Race. Life was moving faster now, and the idea of combining shampooing and conditioning into a single step offered a fast fix for hectic schedules. The R&D team outdid themselves, with a SATINIQUE 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner. Effective, one-step cleaning and conditioning had no-nonsense appeal for the men’s market and on-the-go families. This formula was so unique in its ability to combine the steps without leaving a build-up, it qualified for patenting. Up Close and Personal. To cater for customers who hoped for something more personalised e.g. products  for their hair type and styling choices, the SATINIQUE brand designed the Selection System line-up for dry, oily, treated, or normal hair. These formulas offered a bottle of special attention for everyone.

1994 – Innovation paid off once again, bringing more nature than ever to the SATINIQUE line with a  new moisturising conditioner – the Balsam Copaiba Complex. Balsam Copaiba brought environmental stewardship to the heart of SATINIQUE products, as the trees were cultivated for the fruit, and aided rain forest preservation. Deep Thinking Leads to Deeper Conditioning. Around the world, image-conscious cultures were demonstrating an appetite for products to enhance their looks. It was the perfect time to introduce such a specialty product, with SATINIQUE Intensive Repair Masque for damaged hair. The popularity of specialty products with a “luxury” benefit continued to grow, satisfying both the emotional desire to improve appearance and the reality of dealing with damaged hair.

1999 – Scientists working on SATINIQUE™ products identify a “Special Agent” for hair! Breakthrough discoveries at the R&D lab in Ada, Michigan brought a new lipid technology to the SATINIQUE brand. This unique scientific discovery could actually repair hair by replenishing lipids (natural fats) lost from the hair through damage. The special agent for spectacular hair was called Ceramide Infusion System or “CIS” for short. Expert endorsement of the SATINIQUE brand. The development and of the CIS formula was so noteworthy, the SATINIQUE line caught the interest of internationally renowned Scottish stylist, John Gillespie. John is a master of his art, having won numerous international styling awards in a career that spans two decades. February 2006 – AMAZING NEW TREATMENT takes you back to Your Roots with SATINIQUE Scalp Serum. This is the culmination of the latest mingling of science, nature, and pure good looks to help create full, sleek, shiny, smooth, healthier looking hair. This is a serum for your hair that doesn’t start with your hair.

July 2006 – A new line to treat and protect coloured hair is available, the SATINIQUE Colour Care line. With ingredients to gently cleanse and condition the hair and protect from colour fading to keep the colour brilliance for longer.
