The Fierce Child Davines Color Collection The new Davines hair color collection, “The fierce child”, is the result of an innovative project created by the two stylists, Tim Hartley and Kiyoshi Inoue, inspired by the art of Jean Michel Basquiat and Nicholas Taylor, exponents of the avant-garde, artistic, New York band “Gray”, between the end of the seventies and the beginning of the eighties. The result is a happy synthesis between Hartley’s now famous stylistic depth and Inoue’s fresh, bold approach, with a visual intensity rarely achieved through hairdressing.Drawing inspiration from a series of photographic portraits of Basquiat taken by Taylor, the stylists have extracted the character of expressive intensity, giving life to an exceptional sequence of hairstyles in balance between abstract minimalism and clear artistic vision. The sense of fragmentariness and depth of matter is recognized in the complex inner geometries of the cut, in structures which permit the hair to achieve a precise texture. The image fully reflects the same dynamic tension, in contrast with the softness of the subjects. However, it is primarily through the use of hair color that the Collection fully expresses its experimental character, setting off the purity and sharpness of the forms with touches of transparency and shininess. In fact, all is entirely based on the use of blondes (in a palette obtained with the new Davines Mask CPS Extra Lifts series 11 and 12) to obtain luminous ageless effects, almost sidereal.  |
